Padang Food

Many Choices of Padang Food Quick, simple and not too expensive: this is our slogan.

I am talking about “Padang Food” . This is not Balinese food but it’s very common here anyway.
This kind of food tastes like some kind of Thai food, a lot of coconut milk with curry. For sure this kind of food can make you wake up as it’s spicy but it’s up to choose the food, so becareful!
There are many choices: fish, chicken, pork, shrimp, boiled egg, soft tofu or fried tofu (all menu with curry, fried or deep fried with curry) boiled plain vegetable , sometime they have vegetable with curry, chili paste and many choices of sauce (peanut sauce, chicken sauce, fish curry sauce) served with steamed hot rice.

It’s easy to find this kind of food on the street. I saw many shops in Kuta but Sanak shop in Ubudhere in Ubud we have our favorite shop on Hannuman street as the food is good, clean and the sitting area it’s on upper level with a big wood table and a chair so you can see the street and people passing.
Also if any day is full moon you can see it too on the sky.
But this is not enough yet for talking about something very special that make me like more this place: they have a good Ice Tea here.
I have enjoyed it a lot because it has a soft flavor of Jasmin flower, this is the way this tea gives you a good smell when you drink it and feel relax with the spicy food that you eat. This dish is spicy and it’s for me

The price is from 12.000 to 18.000 rupee each (1 to 1.5 Euro) depending on what you order and this shop in Ubud is open till midnight so you can relax while walking there.

If somebody tells you to come to eat their good food I know you won’t believe it, but I tell you to try their food” because I think it’s worth it.
If you come to Bali you have to try once the “Padang Food”. Maybe you like it or maybe you don’t like it. But try is better than not try.

This dish is not too spicy and it’s for Luca For me this food is worth to me because it makes me alive again and reminds me about my home cook food but soon I will be back home (Visa expires in a month) and I will never forget this food in Bali and I hope to have chance to come back to eat it again!
